TRIP TO TVER` REGION`1996 | |
![]() This photo was taken in 1996, during my third trip to Tver` region. The actual place is near Protivye village, near the town of Vesyegonsk, on the banks of Syroverka river, a tributary of Mologa river, which is actually being called Sukhovetka by local people. I did not collect butterflies at that time, but I remember that the Small Copper (Lycaena phlaeas Linnaeus,1758) was abundant there. On the photo: during my stay there was a drought in the Middle and Lower Volga, so water had to be taken from the river to irrigate the fields. As Mologa is a tributary of Volga, it turned out to be a lot shallower than it usually is. The open land with flowers on this photo is usually under Sukhovetka`s waters. |
